DOIZPE, was founded in Mexico City in 2014 and now it is based in New York City. However, the production remained in Mexico. The brand has always been socially responsible and conscious about how the fashion industry affects our environment and the importance of the labor behind each accessory. Through the years the brand has evolved to be environmentally responsible too, thanks to the current available materials that on the past weren't as accessible as they are nowadays.
The brand plans on durability and optimisation of design, producing pieces timeless by silhouette and quality, that are also partly biodegradable. Creating #SlowFashion accessories to avoid using more of the necessary resources. Therefore, our stock is small and the accessories are produced per order.
We like transparency on each of the steps involved on the lifecycle of the accessories. The handbags are made with cactus leather and vegan leather made in the same state of Mexico where the handbags are manufactured, to reduce the carbon footprint. In addition to that, the factory that produces the vegan leather is responsible with the environment lowering 30% the volume of carbon emission.
The production takes place in Guadalajara, Mexico - where not just the weather is perfect pretty much all the 365 days of the year. But also production takes place in a company where the workers build each accessory in good conditions and around smiles and delicious food.
DOIZPE is committed to always keep evolving to be better, not just on the environmental side but on each of the steps that are taken to create beautiful accessories.
The inspiration of each collection comes from the beliefs and personal experience of the designer, with a combination of metaphysics.
This year one of the pieces of the latest collection won as The Best Green Handbag at The Independent Handbag Designer Awards in New York and the brand has been ambassador of Fashion Revolution USA at The Sustainable Fashion Week in NY. In the past the brand has been also recognised at Who's On Next Vogue Mexico, Abury Design Experience in Germany and twice at The Independent Handbag Designer Awards in New York for being a socially responsible brand.
